Is Acupuncture FSA-Eligible?

If you’re not familiar with acupuncture, it’s a form of alternative medicine in which thin needles are inserted into the body. While the jury is still out on whether it really helps with pain relief, increasing numbers of people swear by it to address anything from low back pain to knee pain. There’s a reason why the IRS allows acupuncture treatment to be FSA-eligible.
Like any doctor’s co-pay, all you would need to do is submit a reimbursement to your FSA administrator and note that it is for acupuncture.
As far as finding an acupuncture practitioner, chances are there some in your area as it has grown in popularity in recent years. Be sure to find a reputable specialist, and good luck!
